Documents Needed the First Day of Practice
Heat acclimation week will begin the week of July 29. Your athlete's coach will inform you of your team's practice schedule. Documents are due at that time!
Off Season Workouts
Lanier Lions Football and Cheer Association is pleased to offer Off-Season Workouts, included in your registration! These sessions, focusing on conditioning, speed, and agility, are open to all grade levels and everyone interested. Workouts will be held up to 3 days a week for 2 hours, led by our dedicated volunteer coaches and Board members. Join us as we enhance skills and foster teamwork during the off-season. These are not mandatory. More details about schedule to come!
Practice Time Commitment
Mandatory practices are conducted twice a week at Lanierland Park, lasting up to 2 hours per session for players in grades K/1 through 3rd. Teams in 4th through 6th grades have practices three times a week. The specific practice schedules are yet to be determined. Additionally, all grade levels will have a couple of Saturday practices at the start of the season before games commence.
Football Games
The GFA Commissioner will annually create a schedule of regular-season games, which will be published and distributed no later than one week before the first game. All regular scheduled games will take place at locations determined by the Executive GFA Board.
Following the regular season, the Executive GFA Board will develop a playoff schedule. The playoff process will lead to two teams in each grade level competing in the annual "Lanier Bowl," representing the season championship for the Georgia Football Association.
Football games take place on Saturdays and typically run for approximately 2+ hours, including warm-up time.
Football Evaluations
Football evaluations will take place over the summer (mid June - mid July). Each grade level will be scheduled for 1 evaluation date. Stay tuned for additional details.
